Why a wedding FILM?

I was recently at a wedding fayre and I would ask couples "Are you interested in a wedding film?" and some common responses were "I haven't really thought about it" and "No thanks I already have a photographer". I realised a lot of people didn't realise how important a wedding film can be. We're often rated as one of those non essential things to have at a wedding, when in reality, a wedding film gives you something completely different to photos.

Don't get me wrong I love my wedding photos but I didn't really have a wedding film of my big day (hence the reason why I'm filming weddings now), but I always really wished I'd had.

So going back to the wedding fayre. I was put on the spot by a future groom who said "You tell me why I should book a wedding film" and it got me thinking.

For me a wedding film is all about the emotion of the day. You see people laugh, you see people cry. You hear the vows and the speeches and you get to relive the first dance all over again. A friend once said, she loved being able to see her late father saying his speech over and over again. Others who have lost elderly relatives are truly grateful that we had captured them in their wedding film.

The day really does go by so fast and you naturally as a bride/groom miss things. The great thing about having a wedding film is that we're able to capture those moments you've missed such as the bride getting ready and the groom waiting anxiously at the top of the aisle, your guests arriving at the venue and then later mingling during the drinks reception. A wedding film gives you this and so much more.

So what is my style of filming? My aiming is to be unobtrusive. I like to film the day as it happens, to go with the flow as they say. The best wedding films are those when we're capturing natural moments, natural smiles and natural emotions.

If you're having doubts about a wedding film, think again, it's one of the best things you'll ever do.

"Not having a wedding video to cherish after the big day is one of the most common regrets felt by today’s real brides"

"I cannot recommend KM Videography enough!! The quality of service we received from start to finish was fantastic, from the initial meeting to the end product of our beautiful wedding video. Katy joined us on our special day and was a pleasure to work with throughout- going completely unnoticed - (other than when she needed to step in to help with a tie disaster haha- once again thank you for saving the day!) - and was able to capture completely natural footage of everyone enjoying themselves, creating a wonderful, true reflection of our day that we can now watch over and over again!!

Thank you immensely for capturing the most important day of our lives!"

"I would just like to thank you Katy from the bottom of our hearts for capturing our day so beautifully. You really don't realise until your receive your film just how important it is to capture those special moments. The morning of our wedding became quite stressful for me due to a few hiccups and I was completely overwhelmed by the kindness and help that you gave to me - I wouldn't have stayed so calm without your guidance and I would really like to thank you so much for that.

My wedding video really is absolutely amazing - its funny and emotional with messages from guests that we have found so great to watch back! The video is so professional and everything I had hoped for. I cannot recommend Katy and Matthew enough, they are both wonderfully talented people."
